Which method and which extensions suit me best?

Which method is best for you depends mainly on the thickness and amount of your own hair and the result you want to achieve.

For thin and fine hair, genius wefts are often a great choice. They are thin and flexible, allowing them to lie flat and look natural in the hair. Tape-in extensions can also be suitable for fine hair.

For normal to thick hair, wefts are ideal for creating a lot of volume and length.

Not sure which method is best? Feel free to send us clear photos of the front, back, and side of your hair. We are happy to take a look and advise you on the right method, length, and amount.

    What are extensions?

Hair extensions are pieces of hair that are attached to your own hair to create extra length, more volume, or both. They are available in different colors, lengths, and textures, so they blend beautifully with your own hair.

There are several methods, including wefts, genius wefts, tape-ins, keratin extensions, and clip-ins. Clip-ins are ideal when you want temporary extra length or volume, because you can easily put them in and take them out yourself. Which method suits you best depends on your hair type, the amount of your own hair, and the desired result.

Professional application, the right amount of hair, and proper care ensure a beautiful and natural result. Good maintenance is important to keep both your extensions and your own hair in optimal condition.

Not sure which method suits you? Feel free to send us a message or visit our salon for personal advice.

  • Washing & caring for clip-in extensions

Washing & caring for clip-in extensions

Only wash your clip-ins when necessary. Use a mild, sulfate-free shampoo and wash the hair gently, without rubbing or twisting. Afterwards, apply a nourishing conditioner or hair mask to the lengths and ends.

Preferably let the clip-ins air dry. Brush them gently from the ends upwards using a special extension brush. Regularly use a small amount of hair oil on the ends and always apply heat protection when styling. Use styling tools at a maximum of 180 °C.

Store your clip-ins clean, dry, and neatly brushed out. This will keep them soft, shiny, and beautiful for longer.

    Tape-in extensions: the benefits

Tape-in extensions are a great choice when you want to create more length and volume in a natural way. The thin, flat attachments lie close to the scalp and therefore blend in almost invisibly with your own hair.

Because the weight is distributed over wide tapes, the extensions feel light and comfortable. This makes tape-in extensions also suitable for thin or fine hair. The application process is relatively quick, and the extensions can be repositioned upward during a maintenance appointment.

Which products you should and should not use

Always use sulfate-free care products for hair extensions. Sulfates can dry out the hair by stripping away natural oils. Extensions cannot replenish these oils themselves and therefore require extra care.

Choose a mild, sulfate-free shampoo and use a nourishing conditioner, a hair mask, and a small amount of hair oil. This will keep your extensions soft, shiny, and supple for longer.

Also, always use a heat protectant to protect both your own hair and your extensions when blow-drying, straightening, or curling. Keep styling tools at a maximum of 180 °C to limit dehydration and damage.

How long do weft extensions last?

With proper care, our weft extensions can last an average of one to one and a half years. Use suitable care products, do not wash your hair too often, and always handle the extensions with care.

Have the wefts moved up every six to eight weeks. This keeps them secure and comfortable, and prevents unnecessary strain on your own hair.

  • Are hair extensions bad for your own hair?

good or bad? · 2 min read

Are hair extensions bad for your own hair?

No, not when the extensions are applied professionally, are suitable for your hair type, and are well maintained. The right method, amount, and care are important to keep your own hair as healthy as possible.

    Four facts about extensions:

    • Properly applied extensions do not have to damage your own hair.
    • Extensions that are too heavy or incorrectly placed can put unnecessary strain on the hair.
    • Your own hair continues to grow while wearing extensions.
    • Regular maintenance helps prevent tangles and unnecessary tension on your natural hair.

    Three important tips:

    • Choose a method and amount that suit your hair type.
    • Use suitable hair care products and brush your hair gently.
    • Have your extensions touched up on time and always have them removed professionally.
